How does a Klaxon work?

Fri Oct 06, 2006 1:42 pm

What is the mechanism?
A motor spinning a "cam" which pushes a pawl attached to a diaphragm?
Thank you.

Pretty much. Older versions had the motor at right angles to the diaphragm and had a gear rather than a ratchet.

Thank you Daniel.
Wonderful diagram.

So, a spinning toothed(?) wheel moves the stud which is connected to the diaphragm?

Wish I cold see closer detail.

Seems that withe correct motor control, one could mimic a mechanical siren!
