What does anyone think of getting media attention on this matter.

Raise hell! Since this concerns the entire community, is dealing with public funds and which the outcome of the tender is to save lives, this should be centre stage, being as loud, obnoxious (to draw attention onto itself) and attention-seeking as possible, so to speak.

I'd drop an email and phone call to all of the media outlets covering the affected areas first (without a URL in the email, avoids spam filters) letting them know about this issue, then in conversation, provide the link to this forum thread.

This needs to be brought out of the realms of our niche discussion and into the minds of those this system is going to protect. It would be absolute lunacy to keep this quiet.

LIVE UPDATE: The bids were thrown out because the price exceeds the budget. I believe this is true bull as the bids were awarded to Federal in 2009 for more money than this bid in 2010. This recommendation will be presented to the Hamilton County Commissioneers on April 21 2010 at 9:30am. In the mean time I will renew my two month old request (freedom of information) for all material concerning this bid. I will keep all of you informed, but now is the time for the members of this site to stand up and be heard.
