I hope they do it, but not destroy it!

By the way, I just noticed that Justin has the same last name as Adam of MythBusters.

IIRC the boom lift they used was damaged beyond repair anyhow.

I put an additonal note on the siren myth site...mentioning that we know of functional, restored sirens in case locating and restoring a Chrysler would be too problematic or cost prohibitive. They might be more inclined to test the myth if they already have a working model to use.

I'm trying to remember who we know who all has them. Obviously, David Stall, Harry Barry of PA (not on this board)....can anyone think of any others? Wasn't there a guy on the board years ago who obtained one?

I was contacted by Linda of the Mythbusters about this issue:

"Tuesday, March 7, 2006 6:22 PM

Hello-

My name is Linda Wolkovitch and I am an associate producer on a television show called MythBusters on the Discovery Channel. We are a science based reality show that takes urban myths and legends and tries to validate or debunk them by doing scientific experiments.

I am currently trying to locate the loudest siren near the San Francisco
area, or perhaps one that is portable, and I got your e-mail from a forum on air raid sirens and thought you might be able to help us. Any guidance you could provide would be most appreciated! I'd be happy to give you more information about this particular episode over the phone.

Thank you for your help!

Warm regards,

Linda Wolkovitch
Associate Producer
MythBusters"

So, I called her up & talked about this issue. David Stall was running for Office, so he was tied up with that. I had no contact for Harry Barry or anyone else with a Victory. There are no T-135's in the area, either.
She had asked the ASC Dealer about that. The loudest sirens around
here (I'm in San Jose) are 2001's. 11db is a big energy difference.

I will call her back soon, and tell her I & others are still interested in this
project. In the meantime, someone know of a working Victory Siren on
the West Coast??

Cool!

If the Chrysler isn't the go, a T-135 is their best bet; but it would have to get a dismounted one and take it to a place where it won't be heard clearly. So you have a logistics problem (even with the Chrysler).

Still give them the opportunity to get an inactive one and give the siren another chance at life.

It's a long shot, but what about the Chrysler that was featured in Robbie Coltrane's Boats Trains and Aeroplanes? (Video on the forums somewhere).
Interestingly enough, also hosted on Discovery; so they must have it on record somewhere. But from the video, it's in Florida.

They've got a place they do various explosive things out on some dry lake bed. They've done quite a few things there. Finding a place is done already if they can just get the unit.
