So it begins...

Tue Feb 13, 2007 8:15 pm

On a routine flight to Dallas Executive Airport this morning, I was met with an unpleasant little surprise. I'll give you a hint (and a pic when I get back out there this afternoon): It's white, most of us hate them, and it's definately NOT the Thunderbolt I was expecting to see. It (it doesnt appear to be a SRN-130, the SRB-B.) I'll take pics of any other's I see.

Blades will bleed. Shields Will Shatter. But as the light fades, will the Hero rise again? Or will darkness rein?

Sorry about the crappy quality. I took it on my phone. I had I had a camera, I would have used it, but I wasn't on a siren hunt, I was doing stuff for school; namely flying someone in for a meeting today. This 2001 looks like it's been here for awhile. That metal attatchment you see off to the right of the siren is a obstruction beacon, Which Dallas has installed on the T-Bolt poles near all the airports in the city, and it looks like they just used the same pole the 'Bolt was on. I think that it was at Fire Station 48. (maybe 46). Anyway, Dallas is making progress on their replacement.

That's not station 48 so it must be 46.

I haven't seen any 2001s in Dallas yet. Maybe
they are replacing the T-bolts they have problems with
first. I think the replacement is supposed to be
a gradual thing by replacing a few sirens at a time.
Where is Dallas Executive Airport?
The only sirens I have seen in Dallas with
those lights on them is one by Red Bird airport,
one by Love Field and station 48 on Northwest
Hwy. There used to be an airport near there but it's
been gone for a long time. Maybe Redbird is Executive
now?

Yep, definitely not 48. I was not aware that Northwest highway was that close to an airport. Which airport was it?
