It was Garland airport and was located right there at
635 and Northwest Hwy. There where the big Fry's is
located now. My father-in-law had a pretty big operation
there. Station 48 is a ways down NW Hwy from there
but that's the only reason I can figure why the Station 48 siren
has the lights on it. Those lights haven't worked in a
really long time. In fact I can't remember ever seeing
them on.

Redbird was renamed Executive. I'm glad that they have a siren there, as they do get a lot of corporate traffic. It's not a huge airport...has a 7000 something foot runway. Big enough to land the 727. (US 67/Hampton Rd) (BTW Nelso, NW Highway/Loop 12 is a very long road and in fact runs near the south side of Love. There is a T-Bolt at Bachman Lake next to an ILS approach system for runway 13R. I think I remember seeing the beacon on that setup too.

I was talking to the people installing the new 2001-130's in my city yesterday. The supervisor in charge told me they will be going to Dallas to install some more new sirens , I believe the same as the new ones in my city.
