Manual Siren 3

Wed Feb 21, 2007 9:15 pm

Hi all,

Done it again, spun round with the drill, but a bit faster this time!
I seriously think the dampness is getting to this poor thing, as the stators seem to be really scratchy lately! (You'll hear it on the video! Ting, Ting, Ting!)
The stators even jammed not long ago! After a little force, they unstuck and spun freely, but still rather scratchy!
Enjoy!

Is it a little corrosion causing the rubbing?

I'd try to carefully sand the high spots down and spray the rotor with silicone lubricant.

I think that the rotor is rubbing to the side without the help of corrosion; corrosion would sound less "clanky." Corrosion could be a factor to the rubbing of the rotor, though inadequate balance could be the biggest factor.
