Sarnia Tbolt 1003 Hi-Lo attack mode [close-up]

Wed Jan 16, 2013 6:00 pm

This is the well hidden second Tbolt 1003 on the south side of the city of Sarnia, Ontario. Looks to be extremely low mounted. There is a second Tbolt about 1/2 mile+ to the west of this siren that ELP recorded from Marysville, MI. The plant normally runs an alert signal after attackl, so either they didn't do a full test this run or the cameraman stopped recording.

You can also hear either EOWS 1212's or Modulators near the end of the recording.

Modulators / EOWS in whoop... very nice hearing that from a distance. That 1003 in HiLo was sort of neat as well, however i think Derek's video from a few years back beats it. :)

I believe that this video may be the first showing a Thunderbolt in Canada.

I've been hearing them since the early 1990s and they have always played off on hi-lo.

Was looking for a video of the shelter-in-place warning from last Friday's benzine and mercaptan leak onto Aamjiwnaang thanks to Shell Corunna.

Not quite

There is a 1003 tornado siren in the town of Stettler, Alberta that someone made a walk-around video (no sounding) back in 2007. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDAtVIG-YPI

The two 1003's I found using Bing Birds eye look like they are not low mounted. Maybe this video is from a worker being up higher. Or there is a 3rd 1003 over there? This one is definitely doesn't have one solenoid stuck open like in my video
