There were actually 3 SD-10s in the old Indy system:

5900 E. Terrace Ave - Replaced with a model 2 before 2005. Replaced with a 2001-SRN in 2007
52 S. 15th St. (Beech Grove), Sarah Bolton Park Entrance - Replaced with a 2001-130 in 2007
9043 E. 10th St., IMPD Training Academy - Removed after the new system was installed.
- Brad Meiser, 32, my couch is < 400 yards from a 2001-130 and my desk at work is < 200 feet from an Eclipse 8. I'm well warned.

Oh yeah, there was a 4th one over at 51st st. and Grandview dr. It was replaced by a 2001-SRN in 2005 I believe, which was replaced by a 2001-130 in 2007

That's a pretty insane map you made! I actually started making one myself.

Also, doesn't Indy have older DC's?
Not that I know of.
Indy has quite a few 2001-DCs

austin-burns wrote:Indianapolis is a crazy system. The system consist of a mixture of 151 2001-SRNs, SRNBs, and 130s. The sirens themselves are activated over WiFi. Some of the 2001s in the county have lightning sensors and lightning rods on them. Indianapolis test their 151 sirens on the first Friday at 11am.

Here's what the coverage consist of:

Actually it's 168, not 151

Why put sirens in rural areas? I think it might not be worth the $ or effort; unless its populated

There was an older SRN on the east side of the city that was hit by a car about two months ago. By the time I came across it all I found was a pole snapped in half and the control boxes remaining. The siren head was gone. It was only two blocks from where I was working so I checked on it every few days. It was repaired and put back up about two weeks after the pole was hit. I had expected it would be replaced by a 130, but was glad that the SRN ended up repaired. There are also 4 other sirens in Indy that are in use but not part of the system. Two at Marian College and two at the Indianapolis International Airport. Haven't ID'd where or what the airport sirens are.

Would you happen to know the location of that? Id like to go to the site in person

That was 9 years ago? You want to go look at a siren that got knocked over by a car and repaired 9 years ago?
