Talk about a sick siren...

Listen to this! Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? A couple of the wails sound ok but the rest are very horrible!

I think that the chopper-motor is not gaining enough electrical contact somewhere, at some point, most likely due to a faulty timing mechanism. I also think that the timing mechanism in this siren has a spinning-cam system.
I also think that the motor was forced to wind down at the end. I really love the choppy action.

If that siren were a kid, I would name him Corky.....slow, and not quite there.

The tanks store about 200 bar (2900 psi) of compressed air to feed the siren; that is why the thing has a 15hp diesel-driven air compressor on it (it's like a scuba compressor). The air is regulated at about 10-15 bar (145-230 psi) to feed the siren. This provides a nice amount of reserve should the engine run out of fuel.
