Long lost recording help

Tue Feb 18, 2014 5:51 am

A number of years ago, when dialup was still popular, there was an STH10 recording on the old site that I can't seem to find. Just audio, no video. It was a distant recording of 1/4 mile I believe with traffic in the background and I believe light rain. Does anyone know of or have this recording?

I don't know whether it will work on your browser, but a quick jump to the past revealed some functioning archives of former recordings for me.

If I remember correctly, someone had an Allertor doing the "Yelp" signal for a recording contest.

Bill Nagler has that recording on tape, he played it for me the other day. It is actually an infomercial from ACA doing a demonstration outdoors. He also has a recording of a Cyclone with a damper doing Pulse steady. That was about the oddest sound I've ever heard!

That sounds amazing! Do you think that he could possibly show that to us?

I believe that was Archon. He also had recordings of a Super Banshee doing high low, and some other ACA product doing a fire signal or something like that.

I hope he uploads those videos again!

I remember Joe submitted quite a number of those recordings to the '04 Siren Contest.

They are only audio cassette tape recordings.

If he got them on the internet in 2004, he could do it again in 2014 IMO. If not, It is as simple as recording what the tape player does with a microphone or a camera.

That would be very interesting to hear, all those signals that were only done once by ACA themselves.
