4j's Maps V2

Mon Dec 05, 2016 1:17 am

I recently stopped using Google My Maps and converted to Google Earth. With my previous MyPlaces save getting wiped, I was able to start anew in a somewhat more organized manner. I have sorted each map by state, and I am using pictures of the siren model themselves as the icon, with a lighter icon being active and a darker icon meaning inactive. Sirens are assumed active until either confirmed inactive or if it is painfully obvious. With that said, here you go! (Maps will be added as I get them more completed, so there may not be many for a while)

Disclaimer:
Sometimes assumptions will be made, especially concerning sirens in military bases, factories, etc. (particularly omni-directional electronics and their respective sizes/count). This is primarily due to these sirens being in restricted areas that streetview cannot access. Take this into consideration when viewing them, and recognize that they may simply be an acknowledgement of a siren existing at that location paired with an educated guess, rather than a definite confirmation.

Wyoming has been added to the list, along with North Dakota.

Here are a few extra Wyoming locations that I didn't see on your map. In Newcastle, near Hwy 85 and S Summit Ave, is a Whelen Omni. It's behind one of the motels. A few miles north of Newcastle is a prison, there is a XT22 within the fence, it can be seen from Google Earth. In Sundance, south of I-90, there is a Thunderbolt 1000(x) look for the water tank and get on street view via the Frontage Road.
In the far Northeast side of the state is Hwy 212, which there is a place called Colony. That is a Haliburton operated bentonite mine. There are three plants, the Southeast one has a roof mounted SD-10 atop the middle warehouse. The middle plant and northwest plant both have pole mounted Sentrys.

Awesome map by the way!

The Kentukcy link is broken. Hopefully it gets fixed soon! :)
In my opinion, I think there way too many 2001's in Indiana!

Went ahead and threw Maryland on there. Still have a lot of fire sirens to map, but a majority of the larger, organized systems are on there.

Anytime I open the Google link, I keep getting a prompt saying "Unsupported Link".
