The round-back 2001 sirens, I think, have the same head-rotation mechanism as a Thunderbolt, and Federal Signal has ditched that design in favor of gears with the 2001 SRN-B.
Nonetheless, the round-back 2001 sirens look better than 2001 SRN-B sirens, at least from the back.

I agree, it's nice to see some variety in, in my opinion, the most humdrum siren of them all. I love how they just dug out the design from the 500AT and said, "Let's make the back end look like that!" I'm not saying it's bad; I like that look.
