Strange electronic tsunami sirens in Chile

Does anyone know what kind of sirens these might be?

From what i can make out, he is saying in spanish:
"Attention, Tsunami, Tsunami, Evacuate, Evacuate"...the rest i can't make out.

Bloody hell! That alert tone sounds almost like our emergency signal that they broadcast.

As for the sirens, they could be speaker arrays like Taiwan has (as seen in the Taiwan sirens thread). I can't find anything definitive on the internet.

The tone quality does sound like a H?rmann, and Chile has always had close ties with Germany, so you're probably right. It sure is an annoying sound, though.

Very interesting reading -- where did you find it? I wish our state's OEM was as well organized as the Chileans with regard to tsunami warnings.
