Thunderbolt 1000T's and 2001's from Louisville, KY, 10-18-07

Mon Feb 11, 2008 12:09 pm

On October 18, 2007, we had a tornado warning, and the other day, I found the audio recordings I made from that day.

Driving by Doss Highschool Thunderbolt 1000T while it's sounding:

We were on the way to Mom and Dad's house, to ride out the storm, but the warning was issued before we could get there. So, I started my tape recorder, and we drove right by the Thunderbolt while it was sounding! The car windows were closed, so it doesn't seem as loud as it should be.

Out on Mom and Dad's deck: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/2/3/1 ... -18-07.mp3?

By this time, the storm had already passed, but as you can hear in the recording, I wasn't 100 percent sure, even though the TV said it was east of our area. You can hear me making excuses to my brother about why I'm recording the siren. Sorry for all the talking, but several sirens can be heard, including the Doss Highschool Thunderbolt, the grey low pitched Thunderbolt at the PRP fire station, and at least one 2001.
