Whelen Vortex, Any Whelen model, ACA alertronic 6000, FS modulator, and most every electronic siren. I also like the T-135, T-128, and most current electromechanical sirens. And can't forget the clasics like the Thunderbolt and the 3t22/2t22, and I also like Darley's.

Mine is definitely the Thunderbolt.

Nashville used to have a number of these in various locations around the city.
I still remember the sound of the one at Overton High School(now gone) from the Wednesday tests during the Cold War days of the early 60s.

I heard one in Marietta, GA a number of years ago during a visit to the area.

Thunderbolts had that "something bad is about to happen" sound which couldn't be mistaken for anything else.

My 2nd favorite is the Federal STH=10. The city of Smyrna, GA, where I lived for 18 years, began installing a siren system in the 70s. The original sirens were STH-10s, all of which are still in use(they've added some Whelen sirens and 2 Thunderbolts since then). I could hear one of the sirens inside my house with the windows closed during the Saturday tests. STH-10 has a great startup sound..and takes a LONG time to wind down!

Anything electronic to be exact
Blades will bleed. Shields Will Shatter. But as the light fades, will the Hero rise again? Or will darkness rein?
