Picked up a new toy

Mon Feb 25, 2008 12:32 am

I decided to go by my local Harbor Freight store today to see if they had any more motor-driven horns there (they didn't last week), and surely enough they did. (#96291, $9.99 on special) I took the horn section apart after the first sounding and found it to be surprisingly well made, having solid-steel drive parts and a nice, beefy knob on the diaphragm. The only thing I found wrong with it is that the cogwheel on my particular horn had no grease on it. I would recommend anyone buying this horn to remove the trumpet and put some grease on the face of the cogwheel, as running it without grease would probably chew it up in no time.
