Those sound like the tones used in Denmark.

Wow, they've had those tones available on Safetycom's website but I never thought anyone actually used them. Great find.

Manhattan, Kansas has Whelens (Part of the Tuttle Creek Dam System) that use the Gas proof protection tone.

That is a great tone, and I'm glad that at least someone is using it.

I've never heard of this signal. What exactly is it supposed to be used for? It sounds weird.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that the signal is used for whenever indoor protection is required but the situation is not yet fully addressed, or cases in which more than one hazard may force you to go into your home and listen to the radio or something.

That's because Denmark has Whelens. All Whelens are capable of all the tones found on safety.com, it's just a matter of the town using these indoor protection/gas proof tones. For example, I have heard my town test in Wail, Hilo, Whoop, Air Horn, Attack, and Alert, but never Westminster Chimes, Indoor Protection, or Gas Proof.

What does "gas proof" mean, and what does it sound like?
