Russian sirens

Fri Jul 28, 2006 5:32 am

I finally found a Russian distributor of outdoor sirens. I'm not sure who manufactures them, though. Perhaps someone who speaks better Russian can glean some more facts from the site. I believe the large one is a 3 kw. siren.

Click on the "produktsiya" button (2nd from left), then scroll to the bottom right where several products are labeled "siryena." This page does not allow Cyrillic letters, so if you don't know that alphabet but know uppercase Greek letters, it can help somewhat. A Cyrillic "C" is a Roman "S," and the "backwards N" is like our "E." "H" = "N," "Y" = "U." Letters like K, T, A, and O are the same as our Roman alphabet.

Pretty cool. The second model looks pretty efficient.
I wonder if Yugoslavia bought examples of the first model shown, as I remember seeing something of very similar gut-proportions there, only with a slightly conical rain-protector, and no enclosure, of any kind, bolted to the stator.
