Since it belongs to a power-generating station, it is important, so they put the stripes on for greater visibility at night, probably. It's cool, though!

Great find.

maybe its near a air port or in the flight line of a run way or some what close to one and they put thouse stripes on it so airplanes can see it.

It's most definately not a photoshop job. Notice the discoloration near the top of the array. Also, here's proof that Federal did at one time make an 812.

Nope. They wouldn't paint it those colors if it was near an airport. It would have to be Aviation Red and White, per FAA requirements (if it was to be painted for that reason in the first place)

FWIW, I'm guessing that's not a paint job, it's reflective sheeting. It looked to me like the bottom of the siren was the usual gray.

A siren wouldn't be the highest object at a generator station anyway to be marked for aircraft.

Yep, that's an 812. Eight horns, 16 drivers, 6400 watts of power...the most powerful electronic siren ever made. It projects 132dbC.
