Love how all those Whelens wind down in harmony at the end.
Cool! The first time I saw this video last night, the location and date of recording hadn't been included in the video description. Nice to know someone else got video of the sirens sounding for the test this month, because I once again missed my opportunity to record a 3016 that day.2t22boy wrote:The video is from Marion, IA so they are part of the DAEC sirens.
Unfortunately not. Vinton is about 25 miles away from Marion, too far away to record any of the sirens there. The problem with the monthly test being performed Wednesday mornings is that I have only 10 minutes after it's over to go to work, which limits me to a radius of about 8 miles or so from town for my siren recordings. And, since Vinton is officially outside the DAEC emergency planning zone, I have to go out into the rural areas away from town to record the sirens on test day. This limits me to only a half dozen or so sirens I'm able to record.ver tum wrote:Bigloudnoise, I wonder if you videoed any of the siren units heard in this video. The lower pitched Whelen in the distance sounds a whole lot like the early 4004 you recorded.
