I bet that you're gonna have nightmares tonight! :P
BTW, what was that shallow boom in the recording?

Q2B or not 2B that is the question.

With pagers (like my department) or Motorola Minitors, for a fire or rescue call, how can you justify disturbing the entire community?
Or course, I am already disturbed - I love sirens.

Model 5

Tue Nov 07, 2006 6:45 pm

I know this is going to sound completely ignorant, but what came before the model 5? Was there ever a model 4? I've seen every number covered except 4 and 6.

Well, there was some controversy on the olden boarde about what came before the Model 5. I think it was the Model 1, the Model 22 (or somewhere close to there-in the 20's), and either the Model 2 or the Model5.
If your siren is a-failin'
Chances are that it's a Whelen
And if it's just about to die
Then it must be an ATI

Model 5 theory

Well, there goes my theory of them being released in numerical order.

The numbers in the series reflect their horsepower rating.

Siren Horsepower

Tue Nov 07, 2006 9:34 pm

I did not know that was what the numbers meant. What's the most powerful siren? (based on hp) currently?

Though it is not made anymore, the Model 7 family was the strongest in that series.
