When Sirens "BITE"

Sat Oct 07, 2006 3:01 am

THis is what happens when you don't get your finger out of the way when you try and spin the rotor by hand. Yes it hurts like hell and 6 stiches to close. And it is not the first time I've done it either.ImageImage

Another casualty. This brings back memories of Adam Pollak's encounter with a siren-chopper, from a Sentry type, I believe. :?:

How big was the siren that bit you?

It was the new one I got. I was spinning the rotor by hand and got to close to the rotor end. The other time I got bit by a siren was when I was moving my STL The rotor is so big, just the inertia movement of the rotor pinched my finger against the stator. Now I block the rotors when I move sirens around in the garage. I think now I am going to use a long stick to spin the rotors

I hope the stick you use isoft enough noto damage the stator edge if it gets caught.

What kind of siren?

Also caught my finger on the Chinese siren I was molesting.
From the outside tried to get ito spin fast enough to detect some chopping.
Knew to keep my fingers away but somehow one got caught.
It's on miniDV if I can upload it to ***(I've been asked not to use this word before so there is now an automatic replacement censor)*** or something.

Keep it elevated.

I just keep tape around the stators on my sirens to keep that kind of thing from happening when handling them. makes em user friendly...
