Expect to get a new recording by tomorrow.

Wed Nov 01, 2006 4:06 am

Tomorrow, our village is testing its Penetrator 10 or 15, I have don't know which it is because it only differs internally. I'm usually in school, but by sheer coincidence, I have a pass to get out at 11 A.M, I don't have a tape recorder of sorts, so I'll have to take a video of it.

Wish me luck.

Awww, man. I didn't get the entire test unfortunately, and the video quality was crap, so you'll have to live with a good recording. I was able to capture the distant hum of a Thunderbolt in the beginning, and just as my mom came to pick me up, the Penetrator roared to life, so i pretty much got the wind up and a bit of the siren for about 30 more seconds. Unfortunately, you can hear the radio and me and my mom talking in the recording, but the siren is obviously noticeable, so enjoy. :D

Great windup, but were you chewing on the microphone? The first part sounded like it was recorded inside someone's mouth.

 I know that sound. The sound of "oh crap I'm going to miss it". Running to the siren were we? Thanks for the recording!
Q2B or not 2B that is the question.

The sound at the beginning was pretty much me running for it, because i got there at exactly 11, then to make it worse, I saw my parents pull up before it went off at first, then it started to wind up, so the recording was a very close call. In the summer hopefully I'll get the full recording.

The city I used to live in had penetrators installed in 1983 that sounded like the one in the recording. They've since been taken down & replaced with whelens......
