There was a video made in Darien, IL. I don't have the video, but
I have pics of the exact same siren that was videoed.

Luckily, I have that video on my computer. The video is HERE.
This isn't my video - it's Dorslo's. Is Dorslo on this board?

Dorslo has not been active since August 2004 :(

If you listen closely in that video when the siren is in Attack, you can
hear the other Hurricane at the Darien FD windup a second before
this one.

That must be the dark-brown Hurricane that you took a picture of. :D

Many thanks for posting the attack segment.

There's something about the inner workings of the siren that takes the wavering tone quality away in attack. I notice also that on coast-down, the volume abruptly drops.

I know someone took an old WisconsinSirens video of a non-rotating Hurricane.
If your siren is a-failin'
Chances are that it's a Whelen
And if it's just about to die
Then it must be an ATI

You're welcome.

The volume drops because the blower turns off at that time.
