My trip to Hawaii

Tue Nov 07, 2006 10:25 pm

I just came back from a four-day trip in Hawaii. My sister was getting married down there. I noticed quite a few green federal modulators. I was also suprised to see a couple of rotting faded green thunderbolts in Honolulu. Unfortunately it was only when my father and I were driving because we had to take care of some wedding business. My questions about the green thunderbolts are, what are the similarities and differences between them and the yellow thunderbolts used for tornadoes?

That's just the way that Hawaii painted them.

Possibly to fit in around with the palm tree and green surroundings? But I don't know for sure. Unique siren color though!

green is a less noticeble color so they didnt want these huge sirens sticking out and haveing all the beautifull seroundings ruined. or tourist being scared of these big yellow boxes and things

I see that some of their Thunderbolts are yellow, by original paint, but have been weathered into a nice bruised-banana set of colors.
