Single tone P-15 Attack - Bethany Oklahoma

Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:26 pm

Got to go record a P-15 with Dillon today, I was able to borrow my grandma's Nikon Coolpix s120.This P-15 had great reverb and echo.

This siren is located on top of the beaver science building at Southern nazarene university.

There's the 1000 in Norman, which we already recorded...
Then there's a 2T22 in El Reno on top of a downtown building...

But it's not so much the building mount that makes it sound so cool. It has to do with the surrounding area. We were in a giant parking lot with large buildings around us and the siren. The sound goes to all of these buildings and bounces all around in between them, and all the trees and grass. That's how we get the effect. I'm pretty sure someone more knowledgeable about acoustics could explain it better than me though.

Now that I think of it, this is probably the only building mounted siren in Oklahoma County. Edmond may have one, but I've only found a few Thunderbolts and 2001s. Building mounts aren't too common around here.

Are there not any building mounted whelens in okc? I swore I saw one last time I went through.

Also, I noticed how you left my dads comment in the video.
