Re: Grifco - Australian Siren Company (Company Information Post)

It's been found that dual rotor Fedelcodes aren't Model 20s, just a head's up. They're the Type Mach. 3, 5, and 10.
I do agree though, it's like you took a Type Mach. 5 and added a bunch more skirts to it.

That's an SRNB, I bet that'd be a real fun one to record.

It's a Darley Weatherproof Champion, a later model with a Federal Signal core.

Re: Inman, SC Absurdly Fast Thunderbeam January 6. 2024

No. The disc is driven by the chopper itself using a shaft and gearbox, so its speed is governed by the speed of the chopper and isn't adjustable. Inman's has a broken gearbox, causing it to spin too fast.

Re: Oldest Thunderbolt sirens in existence

Yup! They were actually just restored and put back into service earlier this year, now rocking the "Bumblebolt" paint scheme. T-75 can currently be found at Sedgwick County Fire Station 32, in Park City, KS. T-104 is located at Wichita Firehouse 20, and T-116 is at Sedgwick County Fire Sta...

Re: Why is the Mineola Thunderbolt 1003 so special?

It's very similar to why the Silverstreet Thunderbolt is so over-recorded and foamed over. It performs a rare signal with both solenoids working, it tests reliably and regularly, and is unique due to its (former) paintjob and overall appearance. It's easy to record since it tests daily, and has a pr...

That's a Canadian Model 2. Quite literally listed as that in the catalogues.
Nice truck, too...
Also called the Model "2-3Z" on the tags on later models.

Re: 1986 ACA Alertronic 6000R

Rotational Alertronics normally use rings, in a similar fashion to the WS-2000R. This meant it didn't have to oscillate, but the rings require more maintenance and can cause skipping and other issues for electronic sirens. They did offer an oscillating model with direct-wired drivers, which JCB owns.

Looks sorta like a Fedelcode Model 2 that's covered in snow.

It's an Engesig OMNI, which is Engesig's clone of the Modulator, albeit with differently shaped cells. Engesig is based out of São Paulo.
