Re: AUS unknown siren model

That seems to be a Grifco 999! These are pretty much just an Australian version of a Carter.

Re: ACA Hurricane locations help

I've been searching up locations of ACA Hurricanes recently, and as I've been trying to find them on historical aerial views to try to find their exact locations, I can't find them. I know this one is in Garland, TX somewhere near Fire station #3, but the fire station wasn't even built back when th...

Re: Cosgrave siren In Jerome

I have proof that they were indeed talking about the Denver downtown. Here their FB post says: "The town siren is on the Fritz, we have disconnected it pending replacement of a interface". I'll have to try asking myself in more detail on the Cosgrave itself. Will provide an update if they ...

Re: Mystery Siren

Back on the board again. What you’re looking at is in fact, a Darley STH-10. They have 10 or 12 port rotors (not sure), and have 10 horns i think. Usually they are white or bright red but this one appears to be faded red. Hope this answers your question! I'm pretty sure they only came in 12 port, l...

Re: Civil Defense Logo Recreation

The CD logo was typically a decal that they would put on the siren. They usually used a highly adhesive sticker or glued the decal onto the siren itself. If you need it, here's an original CD logo you can use: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/88/Roundel_of_the_United_States_%281961%...

Re: 1917 Denver Quadruplex siren restoration thread

Progress Update. Got the siren torn down yesterday. Rotor assembly will be sent off to the machine shop in the coming weeks. Overall it wasn't terrible to get apart. All but one bolt came out came out with some motivation from an impact. The final bolt refuesed to move, so I put a breaker bar on it...

Re: New Orleans Louisiana Fedelcode Coded Siren

I recently went to this siren for the noon test. Sadly, i was too far to hear anything as i know its damper is stuck. Is it still active? I know it's still there, as from the angle I was at from Jefferson Highway, i could see it. I would contact whoever owns the siren (building owner, city, etc.) a...
