Re: Wisconsin Statewide Siren Map

I noticed on Google StreetView that there used to be (sorry if I get this wrong) a Decot Red Arrow siren outside the Mayville Fire Dept. Sometime between 2015 and 2024 it appears to have been removed unfortunately. Location was 43.49421302738548, -88.55066178327722 September 2015 StreetView: Screens...

Re: Possible Golden Dome Siren Systems

Realistically (but unfortunately) yes, I believe that Lycanroc76 may be right. I'd imagine that the US would go more in the direction of phone alerts nowadays, but of course we cannot be sure. They could easily play the same excuse cards they did in the UK, that national systems are "too costly...

Carlisle & Surrounding Area Siren Map

I've been working on putting together a map of all the siren locations in and near Carlisle, Cumbria. I've been receiving help from local residents to pinpoint where they remember sirens being located, and have managed to get a nice perspective on how the city siren coverage was laid out. Unfortunat...

Re: UK Siren Map

Good evening all, Not too much of an exciting update, but I've found more proof of sirens existing. From gathering information from local residents, I've found a wealth of siren locations in Carlisle, however unfortunately there is little to no proof of their existence other than people's recollecti...

Re: B&M 20-AR-10 Restoration

HI! Back after years chasing Los Angeles air raid siren locations. Once I got the original siren list and had it published, I left it up to others to see if they were still there or not. Anyways, I volunteer at the MDHCA in Goffs, CA. I'm working on an outdoor military display and one of the items ...

that thing still looks beautiful, the only bad thing at this point is the rust.
I know, it is a shame... part of me wants to repaint it, but it's at the tricky point where there's too much good-condition original paint to justify a full redo.

Re: Gents Tangent 1479(?)

And with just a splash of WD40, it's amazing how bright the red paint still is! Turns out it was just covered in a thick layer of dirt and grime, so a touch of the microfibre cloth got it off.

Re: weird 10 port "slanted port" siren

The pictures don't seem to load. Could you re-send the photos in a different format? appears to be a "you" issue as the pictures load perfectly for me, i myself am using Firefox on desktop, so maybe its something with the browser you use or whatever. The images loaded fine for me yesterda...

Re: Gents Tangent 1479(?)

Could be. Since it's on a cast piece, the "SY28" would likely have bean imprinted on the backplate of every Type 1479. This could signify that it's the 28th Syren design Gents has come up with, as you say. Alternatively it could be referring to the cast component itself, meaning "Syre...

Re: Gents Tangent 1479(?)

the stator design reminds me of the Gents 1468 siren*, but clearly this isnt one as the 1468 always came with two rotors (either 8/8, 15/15 or 8/15), this is kind of mysterious... *if you ever spot a Gents 1468 8/15 dual tone, PLEASE TELL ME ! i have been looking for one for years and i absolutely ...
