Re: Low mounted Sirens in US

Federal Signal Model 2 on Fisher Road in Columbus Ohio, This is a siren for the Plant it’s at and isn’t tested, But will go off in the event of a emergency Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have a winner. Even if it isn't tested, the fact that it's used as an emergency siren should cement it...

Re: What is my Model 2 doing?

Were you able to replace the brushes yet? To me, it seems like a brush issue. As you said, the Model 2 hasn't ran in 40 years, and It's probably never had a brush change in its lifetime. The brushes will wear from the constant friction, which will make them smaller over time. to me, this definitely ...

Re: How much do sirens cost at West Shore Services?

I only know the price of a full Thunderbolts unit, but Mike was willing to sell the blower, head, and controls for one for around 1,600 dollars. Unfortunately, many of the sirens there are over $500, and that may not be in your budget. None of the sirens were in my $200 budget when I went there in A...

Who owns the Thunderbolt from Thomas and Old 27?
The actual person is unknown, all I know from Mark is that it was picked up by a man living in southern Florida.

Lansing's old siren system article

I'm here yet again for more information about Lansing's old system, but this time I wrote a whole article in Google Docs that you can read. As a heads up, some of the information may not be exactly correct yet, as I was only able to work off of a few newspaper articles for this. If you have any corr...

Re: How do I help encourage my 9yr old with this interest?

If he wants to know where other sirens are located, there are many, many siren maps on Google My Maps that can be found for almost any area possible. There's a large thread that can be seen here with all of the most up-to-date siren maps for all of america and some other countries, too! The only pro...

Re: RCM Panel Help

Do you know what location you got this off of? It's not going to help with anything, but I'm just curious. When I went there in August, I was looking at their old Thunderbolts, and for some reason every tag on them had "1000" on them instead of "1000T", since they were all 1000T...

I was the one who managed to find that audio and sent it to Armo. I stumbled upon it when I was researching the siren.

Re: The Ferry building Heath siren

I completely forgot about this thread! Someone actually found a recording of the Heath siren, and it doesn't actually wind up that fast at all. I wonder if someone would be able to get someone to reactivate the other Instant blast on the tribune tower. The person who found it was @armoturo on YouTub...
