Re: The death of the ACA Howler, And a call for action

There was an ACA Howler at Sirencon 2025. I would assume that that was a different one than what this topic is about- If I am correct that it is a different one where did the ACA Howler at Sirencon come from?

Re: Mistery siren in NC

It’s definitely a Fedelcode siren you can tell by how tall it is. As well as how it has that “model” siren look to it.

Re: Siren project ideas

To create a 2 port siren you have to have a 3 or 4 port chopper inside a stator with only 2 ports.

To make a 3 port siren you would need a 3 port chopper with a 3 port stator. To create 4 port siren it’s the same thing just 4 ports. Hope this helps

Re: The death of the ACA Howler, And a call for action

I wish I could do something to save the Aca howler. The best I can do is pray, and hope for the best for that piece of civil defense history. Who knows, Maybe it will be at Siren-con? I am going to miss it this year but maybe next year, who knows!

Re: The death of the ACA Howler, And a call for action

I do agree with that. You don't want to blow the ears out of the town and waste any money on say a 2001 that is overkill when you can spend less on one such as like a T-121 that will meet the needs of the town better. T-121s are reliable I live a 5 minute walk from one and just recorded its test. St...

Re: The oldest siren recordings from enthusiasts

There was that very old recording of an Aca Hurricane MKII you can find on YouTube. I believe it of of the "Over rated" Aca hurricane at fire station 39 in Milwaukee WI.

Re: MIni ACA CODED hurricane

I can’t provide much advice but I will say however to make sure your motor has 3,000+ rpm. That way it will be loud. I am curious however what the cone will be made out of.
