Seeing some of the talk about the STH in The Plains...it was removed in the summer of 2018 due to it being in the way of the station's roof replacement. Last I knew, it's still in possession of the fire company.

I'd love to help with information about some more of the NoVa sirens.

Gotcha. I'd love to hear your input on the NoVA sirens. You may either post them here, or privately message me.

Alrightythen. Well, first of all, all of the sirens in Loudoun County (and Fauquier, except for the Warrenton square-horn STL) are inactive to my knowledge. I'll give you some former locations:

Model X (8-port): old Purcellville station, 200 N Maple Ave. Removed in fall 2010.
STH-10: old Hamilton station, 43 E Colonial Hwy. Removed in late 2016. I believe it now belongs to Evergreen Tree Service, who took it down.
Thunderbolt (I believe 1003): Aldie VFD. Removed in the late 90s. I believe the station also had a Model X before the Bolt.
I think the STH in Sterling is also still in posession of the fire company. Same goes for the HOR in Ashburn - I thought they remounted it on top of the turret (it would be hidden there).

There's an 8-port Model 3 (I think) behind Settle's in Flint Hill, Rappahannock Co.

Thanks Jack! If this stirs something, an image of Lovettsville VFD from vintage aerial doesn't show an Allertor on-site.

But wait, I have a surprise. Out of random luck, I found an image in the area of Lovettsville showcasing an Allertor in the bottom.

Knowing how 200 Allertors were commissioned in the DC area from 1975-1977; mainly being installed in Prince William and Loudoun Counties, it makes you wonder how much still lurk.

Anytime! I'm a NoVa native, so I'm pretty knowledgable about sirens there ;). And I believe the Lovettsville Allertor was not at the station but in the center of town. Owen (Sweet Tea Sirens) has it now. He got it from the FD.
