Lets revisit the Mt Baldy, CA mystery siren kx250rider *SOLVED* Pearse Co siren.

Okay I am piling together information to do a write up of the Denver Siren for the Wiki, and there was some word a long time ago, that this particular siren could possibly be a Denver siren (based on lettering cast into the side.) Has anybody ever figured it out? Credit to kx250rider (Charles) for the pictures..







And to Charles, if you see this, any chance you could get up there in the near future to confirm my suspicion, and maybe a few more pictures and angles? To my knowledge, Denver only had horizontal sirens up until Hendrie & Bolthoff MFG and Supply sold the patent to Sterling sometime in the early to mid 1920's in which it was no longer known as a "Denver" siren

SOLVED. Thanks to Facebook user Aaron Allevato the siren in question has been determined to be a Pearse Company siren, a manufacturer based out of Denver Colorado. See pictures further in thread.

Its a Model D, not an A. The front cone of the A does not contour out in that manner. As for the mystery siren...my guess is that it is a 16 high tone Denver. If I can recall correctly, there was a 16 port denver similar to this in Fowler, CA.

The Fowler, CA siren is a 16 port Sterling N5 N denoting single head.

Sorry for the huge bump, but I have something nice to say, I think she still works! Because I've checked on Google Maps and the chopper isn't on the same position as on the picture, and I highly doubt the chopper would have "moved" with the wind or something like that
So I think it still works, someone really needs to ask the fire dept to make it roar!

well now that this was bumped i can finally make a little update as well

so as many people thought, this is a denver, and i can tell not only from the little tag thing, but because of the motor
it looks almost identical to the one on this denver horizontal

I'm so excited to see her running, but unfortunately we don't know how frequent they test it, but we do know that on Google Maps between years the chopper have moved so it's most likely that she still is hooked up and works fine! I hope...

I believe that is an older sterling. The first generation sterlings looked a lot like Denver sirens.

I think the Fowler, CA thing was proved to be something called a CAM Model 17(really rare): viewtopic.php?t=17697

Aaron Allevato did come look at it on Facebook the firefighters were kind enough to make him climb on the roof and get a look of the siren and they want it to work !
