What in the world is that?

Sat Mar 01, 2025 6:49 pm

Hello again ppl. I've seen a strange thing up on the Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana's Railway Workshops, on Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil. It has a siren that has some horns, but.... it's sound doesnt seem right. There's a video of it right here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMHo8uHL2jg

There's also some pics I took of it with the Snip & Sketch tool from Windows:

Sounds like it's maybe an electronic siren (MasterBlaster, etc.) that's playing a recording of a 10/12 port siren to me

It aint it. Levi found it on street view and took a screenshot, and it looks like an alarmes tucano horn. take a look:

According to some people from Brazil, it is a nuclear siren from the US, it was used as a time signal for the employees of the old office of EFS and FEPASA. It is supposed to be a Dual-Tone with a single rotor and stator with two different ports one on top of the other, that is why it looks like a single tone but sounds like a dual, it may be that it is modified and that is why it looks different from a normal American siren, but it sounds like one and the electrical system of Sorocaba is 60hz, so it may be credible that the siren is American.
