Re-restoring Thunderbolt RCM Cabinets

Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:34 am

From May to early July of 2022, I re-restored (cosmetically) my white Thunderbolt 1000. Don't worry, I've mechanically restored it overtime and when I first got it. When I wrapped up that restoration, I planned to re-restore my RCM cabinets but I ran out of money for the time being and didn't have further motivation to do it. Three years have now gone by and I ordered a new part go with the setup, but looking at the 6 almost 7 year old setup I had going, I thought it was time for a refresh and to finally re-restore the RCM cabinets. Here are some before photos and of the setup being disassembled.

Progress being made on the "T73" RCM cabinet. This RCM cabinet is currently the oldest Thunderbolt RCM cabinet known to exist. The schematics that were in this cabinet were removed a couple years ago, scanned and framed.
